Paul is committed to providing Lakeshore’s customers with state-of-the-art cleaning methods and technology. This is achieved by being a long-time member of three key industry trade associations (ASCR, IICRC and FIO) that offer ongoing training and certification programs.
In 2008, Lakeshore Carpet Cleaners was recognized as the FIO’s Carpet Cleaning Company of the Year. Floorcovering Institute of Ontario is now known as Canadian Flooring, Cleaning & Restoration Association
Paul has held the position of President of the Ontario Professional Carpet Cleaners Association, Floorcovering Institute of Ontario (FIO), and the National Floor Covering Association of Canada.
Certification
Lakeshore Cleaning & Restoration is one of only two companies in Canada that are trained and certified by The Master Rug Cleaner Program.
Both the owner of Lakeshore, Paul Skeels and Florian Kacso are certified.
The Master Rug Cleaner Program is an all-encompassing year of education and mentoring centering around two three day sessions of intensive training.
A few of the areas included in the certification are:
- Pre-cleaning inspection
- Machine, hand-woven and hand-knotted construction
- Hands-on dusting and cleaning methods
- Silk rug cleaning
- Urine decontamination
- Fringe treatments
- Dye stripping
- Rug blocking
- Identifying problem rugs
